If You鈥檙e Studying Abroad or Away
On campus housing needs can shift when you study abroad, and we have processes to make your transition smooth. Policies differ depending on whether you鈥檙e abroad in fall or spring.
Note: On campus housing selection has no bearing on housing placement at study abroad locations. Refer to study abroad materials for further information on abroad housing.
Fall Semester Study Abroad or Away
- You will be removed from the housing lottery and will not be assigned to fall semester housing.
- You鈥檒l be placed in a 鈥渟tudy abroad鈥 housing group for fall semester.
- 小猪视频官网 Term & Spring Housing applications: Submit between Oct. 1鈥15.
- Spring assignments are finalized by Nov. 15
- You may 鈥渟wap鈥 with a student studying abroad in the spring to live with friends. Note this on your application or email reslife@centre.edu.
Students returning during 小猪视频官网 Term may receive a temporary room until their spring housing is ready.
Spring Semester Study Abroad or Away
- Apply for fall semester housing through the normal lottery.
- Note your spring abroad plans on your housing application.
- If you have a roommate, coordinate with a fall abroad student for a potential 鈥渟wap鈥 in spring. Information about the 鈥渟wap鈥 should be included in your housing application or emailed to reslife@centre.edu.
- While abroad, remember to register for the following fall housing lottery in late spring.
- You must vacate your room at the end of 小猪视频官网 Term before departure.
Being on Campus During Your Abroad Term:
- Students studying abroad are not permitted to live on campus or spend extended time here during the term they are away. This includes arriving early before your study abroad program begins or returning to campus after it ends.
- Process for Permission: If you need to return to campus during the semester you are abroad for official 小猪视频官网 business, you must request written permission from the Residence Life Office before making travel plans.
